Design

While in high school, we transitioned from a traditional broadsheet to a news magazine. In my senior year, we hoped to focus on opening up design to move from the compact style of broadsheet. To help in this transition I changed our thick black footer at the bottom of every page to a simple header of just page numbers and sections. I believe this change was something that helped keep our staff members looking for ways to include information in a way that is pleasing to the reader's eye. During this year we grew from a 32-page magazine to an average of a 56-page magazine every issue. I also assisted in designing the newspaper for the 2022 Multicultural Journalism Workshop.
